Staff Development and Training

Due to the Pre-school’s inclusion in the PEEP programme, staff are required to join in extra training sessions (there are usually 5days during the year for which the playgroup will have exceptional closures).

Support

The Playgroup is run by a management committee who meet approximately every 5 weeks.

We receive support from Mrs Ann Dixon (Early Years Specialist) who advises on the DE Curriculum which helps us meet all children’s learning and developmental needs.

The playgroup has an assigned social worker from the Northern Health & Social Care Trust – Mrs Elizabeth Harris. Their role is to inspect the playgroup during the year ensuring we meet the required standards. They also keep staff up to date on relevant childcare issues. These professionals are there in a support capacity for the parents as well, and our staff will be happy to direct parents if the need arises.
